Revolutionary hospitality hiring marketplace tackles kitchen talent crisis head on. Harri.com, partnering with the NYC Hospitality Alliance & FEGS, will be hosting one of NYC's largest ever Back of House Job Fairs.
New York, NY (PRWEB) September 10, 2013
On Monday, September 16th, Harri.com - partnering with FEGS & The NYC Hospitality Alliance - will be hosting a Back of House (BoH) Career Fair for twenty of NYC’s top restaurant groups at FEGS (80 Vandam St., 7th Floor) from 1-5pm.
Media attention has recently highlighted the crisis facing restaurants in NYC as they struggle to staff their kitchens with suitably experienced teams. Data compiled by Harri shows that at present there are nearly 1,700 unfilled kitchen positions across the five boroughs.
This talent drought poses a direct threat to service levels at some of the city’s best-known restaurants, in turn threatening NYC’s status as the culinary capital of the world.
A first for the city - the event is focused only on BoH position and aims to fill over 150 positions for the 400+ candidates attending.
Some of the Restaurants and Restaurant Groups represented include Spice Market, Tao Group, Andre Balazs’s The Standard Hotel, The ONE Group, Chef Daniel Boulud’s Dinex Group and Aurify Brands. Each participating restaurant will be hiring a minimum of five positions, all Back of House (such as Line Cooks, Sous Chefs, Kitchen Managers, and Porters). Harri is expecting 400+ applicants to attend the job fair.
